LAN Approved
In Malaysia, the programmes conform to the requirements of Lembaga Akreditasi Negara Malaysia (National Accreditation Board Malaysia). Such requirements include the minimum of 90 credit hours for the Informatics programmes of diploma level.

Degree Pathway
Informatics has established strong partnership with universities and academic bodies all over the world. These strong ties enable our students of education programmes to be admitted into the degree programmes of many reputable universities of Australia, UK and USA through credit transfers. Many of these universities accept our students into the final year of their degree programmes.

Multiple Modes
Students can thus choose to complete most of the degree-level studies (equivalent to up to two years) locally in Malaysia before going on campus to experience the invaluable university life. In addition to on-campus studies, we offer other alternative modes of study in either distance learning, supported by visiting professors or e-learning with e-support.

Three Schools
Informatics offers education programmes of three schools.

  • Information and Communications Technology
  • Business Administration
  • Computer Engineering

The Programmes
Approved by LAN, the programmes offered by Informatics are of diploma level. The diplomas are awarded by Informatics Academy Malaysia, whose Examinations Board validates or quality-assures the diplomas in collaboration with Testing and Certification Division of Informatics International based in Singapore. Each diploma has at least 90 credit hours as required by LAN.

Programme Delivery
Lectures are given in English. Tutorials and practical laboratory sessions are carried out, and case studies, projects and industrial training are assigned, whenever appropriate to enhance the learning process.

Assessment Methods
Students are assessed basing on both coursework and written examinations. Coursework, which can be a combination of assignments, tests, quizzes, attendance, and class participation and presentations, accounts for 60% of the overall assessment. Written examinations account for the remaining 40%.

Entry Requirement
Candidates must possess 3 SPM credits or equivalent with a pass in Bahasa Malaysia to be accepted into the programme.
